Pioneered by Stella, the SGB protocol involves 1-2 injections of local anesthetic into the stellate ganglion – a bundle of nerves found near the base of the neck. This area directly impacts the “flight or fight” response for people living with severe stress or trauma.
The SGB protocol is a Dual Sympathetic Reset that brings the fight or flight response back to a pre-trauma state. Using image-guided techniques, a highly trained Stella doctor injects local anesthetic at the C6 and C4 (or C3) vertebrae into the stellate ganglion. The entire process lasts only 20 minutes, with immediate results in the first 30 minutes post-treatment.

SCHEDULE YOUR CONSULTATIONWhen we’re used to the status quo of the mental healthcare system, a new way of doing things can feel a bit overwhelming. Here are a few FAQ’s to help you get started.
It depends on the person. Some people notice the relief from SGB in about 30 minutes while others notice a gradual change over time or require an additional injection. Have questions about that? We can help answer them!
At Plus by APN, a stellate ganglion block will only be administered by a Stella board-certified doctor. Stella doctors are also required to use image guidance for the placement of injections. You can rest assured that your provider is both experienced and qualified to answer your questions and provide the best treatment experience possible.
