Why would I choose Plus by APN rather than an at-home ketamine treatment company?

Plus by APN offers three distinct advantages over at-home ketamine treatment companies.  First, Plus offers in-person treatment with a luxe clinical experience, providing both enhanced comfort and in-person medical supervision during your session. Second, Plus is not JUST a ketamine treatment company. Our psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and team are able to comprehensively evaluate your story and better determine if ketamine is the right next step for you or if another combination of interventions could serve you better. And finally, Plus treatment provides you access to master’s level clinicians for therapy to guide you through your treatment and even pursue next steps after your sessions.

Does my insurance cover ketamine treatment at Plus? Are there payment plans?

At this time, Spravato (esketamine) can be covered by some insurance companies, based on your coverage and conditions. IV ketamine treatment is not covered by insurance, though we certainly hope to see that change in the near future. For now, intravenous ketamine is offered at Plus by APN starting at $340/session, depending on your particular treatment plan. In order to make the treatment more accessible, payment plan options are available so that you can start ketamine treatment with a down payment of just $285 and pay for all treatment sessions over the course of a year.

How is IV or IM ketamine different than Spravato?

Spravato and IV/IM ketamine are both used to treat depression and can be administered by licensed healthcare practitioners. In layman’s terms, Spravato (generic: esketamine) is a derivative of ketamine. Spravato has been FDA-approved to treat:

  • Adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
  • Depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions

Ketamine can be administered in various forms, including intravenously, intramuscularly, orally, or as a nasal spray. Spravato, on the other hand, is specifically formulated as a nasal spray.
