For over a decade, Michael Simms has devoted his career to mental health and addiction recovery, working across all levels of care to help clients achieve lasting healing and growth. His passion for this work is deeply personal—rooted in his own recovery journey from addiction and trauma, and inspired by the life-changing support he once received from an exceptional therapist and coach.

Michael holds a Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver and brings a comprehensive skillset to his work, including credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Addictions Counselor, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist, Acudetox Specialist, and Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training (NMIT).

From overnight technician to clinical director and executive leadership, Michael has held diverse roles throughout behavioral health. Most recently, he served as Director of Outpatient Services for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare in Denver, where he led operations and oversaw client care. Despite his leadership experience, Michael remains deeply committed to one-on-one therapy, offering individualized support through a wide array of clinical modalities.

Michael is driven to help clients get to the heart of their struggles, develop healthier coping tools, and make meaningful life changes.

Outside the clinical setting, Michael enjoys Colorado’s outdoors, climbing fourteeners, hiking with his three dogs, reading, and enjoying game nights with friends.
