Background and Education

Kate earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Psychology and Media Persuasion, graduating Summa Cum Laude while actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities. During her undergraduate training, she focused on clinical mental health and worked in a residential mental health and addiction treatment center.

She later expanded her work into the field of functional nutrition, building a private practice focused on the dynamic relationship between nutritional health and overall well-being. Through this work, she became increasingly interested in the intersection of food, mental health, and the nervous system. Her additional certification as a Biology of Trauma Practitioner deepened her understanding of how trauma impacts individuals on behavioral, biochemical, and physiological levels.

In 2025, Kate completed a three-year professional training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University in Denver and plans to pursue licensure as a professional counselor.
