Meet Dr. Kate Daly

Dr. Daly brings more than a decade in the behavioral health field and a striking CV of educational and professional accomplishments to her role as the Medical Director of Plus by APN. She combines clinical excellence, a warm approach, and evidence-based interventions to provide care for people who are often misunderstood or overlooked.

Dr. Daly emphasizes a safe, compassionate space balanced with a push to do hard work, step outside of your comfort zone, and face challenges head-on. She believes that personalized care is required for each person’s unique story, circumstances, and needs. Dr. Daly leads the Plus by APN team in offering excellent clinical care that both relieves short-term symptoms and propels clients toward long-term recovery.

Education and Background

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology, Dr. Daly earned her Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. She was a semi-finalist for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. She then moved back to the states to complete her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Maryland where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. During this time, she also completed the Combined Accelerated Program in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine – a behavioral science-psychiatry track that allows selected students to enroll in psychiatric specialty training focused on didactic and clinical experiences. She went on to complete her residency at the University of Washington where she was Chief Resident of the Spokane Track. During residency, Dr. Daly was honored by the University of Washington, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences for Excellence in Public Psychiatry and Social Dedication. This impressive educational work was just the start for Dr. Daly.

In 2014, she achieved the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certification and has served behavioral health clients in various practices since then. Most recently, Dr. Daly served as Medical Director of a Boulder, Colorado center providing adults with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder access to a community-based residential treatment facility, transitional living, and intensive outpatient treatment. Dr. Daly is also passionate about providing psychiatric services for women, transgender, non-binary, and gender-fluid persons suffering from mental health issues – the focus of her former private practice. In 2020, she completed the World Professional Association for Transgender Health Global Education Initiative Foundations Course. She is an active member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
